Earlier, a series of meetings and preliminary meetings were successfully organized showing Vietnam’s capacity in hosting international events. Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc speaks at the opening of the 37th ASEAN Summit Vietnam has been applauded for successfully hosting several international events including the 41st AIPA General Assembly in September, which was held online for the first time in its 43-year history. The Speakers of Thailand’s National Assembly, Norway’s Parliament, and Lower House of Morocco congratulated Vietnam and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan for successfully organizing the event. Vietnam’s capacity in hosting international events has been tested since early this year when it assumed the Presidency of the UN Security Council in January, ASEAN Chair for 2020 and the role of Non-Permanent Member of the UN Security Council in the 2020-2021 tenure.
